If you have ever had to answer the question of “Which operating system am i using?” most of the time people don’t know the right answer. Not only is there quite a few that have been released over time there are also service packs that make some significant changes to the operating system. For example you could be on Windows 8 or 8.1 or Windows 7 with or without SP1 installed. You may also be on Home Edition, Professional, or another version of the operating system that gives additional features.
Here are a few examples:
- Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
- Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- Windows 8.1 Pro

- Click on the Start button
- Right click on Computer
- Click on Properties
